On November 10, 1998, at 23 weeks pregnant, my water broke and I was hemhorraging. I had to be taken to the hospital via ambulance. Poor Mike had to drive behind us. To this day, I don't know how he was able to make that drive; We were both scared to death about what was happening. I would spend 2 weeks in the hospital before we had our daughter, Haley, at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 11 ounces. She was only 13 inches long.

The birth of Haley, our miracle, has been the happiest event for us as a family thus far. I never knew how much love I had in me until I looked at my daughter for the first time. I love this little girl more than anything on this Earth. I love my husband even more knowing that together we could make such a perfect being.

Haley's story is a very long and emotional one. She is what inspired this website. You can read all about our premature experience by going to www.thehaleybug.com.
